About the company Forum Recruitment is proud to partner with an Australian-owned multi-brand retailer who is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Retail Leasing Manager to join their dynamic property team. About the role In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the effective management of a multi-state portfolio, securing optimal lease terms for their retail brands, and ensuring all critical lease activities are completed ahead of deadlines. You will work closely with internal teams across design, construction, operations, finance, and legal, as well as external stakeholders such as franchisees, landlords, agents, and legal representatives. Key responsibilities Negotiate lease renewals for both company-owned and franchised stores, ensuring financial feasibility and compliance with internal approval processes. Source and secure new tenancies that align with brand growth strategies, collaborating with franchising and operations teams. Prepare robust business cases for new locations and renewals, including franchise consultation as required. Gather and analyse market data to support rent recommendations. Work with legal teams to negotiate and draft leases, licences, and agreements, ensuring all commercial terms are addressed. Escalate lease terms that do not align with minimum requirements for further review. Oversee all actions required for lease commencement at new sites, ensuring accurate administrative record-keeping. About you Experience as a Retail Leasing Manager, either on the landlord or retailer side. Strong commercial acumen and advanced knowledge of lease documentation (Leases, Licences, Agreements for Lease). Experience working with franchising is preferred, but not essential. Exceptional stakeholder relationships. Proven experience within retail networks. Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills. Strong decision-making and influencing abilities.
