Pandanus Workforce is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator / Civil Allrounder for ongoing civil infrastructure works on a Defence project in Darwin, Northern Territory. This role is ideal for an operator who is confident working in and around live services and understands that being part of a successful civil crew means getting off the machine and assisting on the ground when required. About the Role You will be operating excavators on civil construction works involving trenching, service installation, drainage and general infrastructure activities within a Defence environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in tight areas, around existing infrastructure and underground services, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality. Key Responsibilities Operate excavators safely and efficiently Work around underground and above-ground services (PUP) Trenching and excavation works Service installation and civil construction activities Assist the crew with labouring duties when required Read and understand service plans and site instructions Maintain equipment and complete pre-start inspections Follow Defence site security and safety requirements Essential Requirements Demonstrated experience operating excavators in civil construction Proven experience working around underground services and utilities Ability to work in confined and restricted access areas White Card Current Driver Licence Strong understanding of safe excavation practices Ability and willingness to assist on the ground when required Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening Clean criminal history and ability to obtain Defence site clearance Highly Regarded Service locator experience Additional plant tickets Confined Space Working at Heights HR Licence What's on Offer $47.50/hr flat rate 50 hours per week Long-term project opportunity Immediate start available Weekly pay Opportunity to work on a major Defence infrastructure project Supportive team environment If you're an experienced excavator operator who takes pride in quality work, understands the importance of working safely around services and isn't afraid to jump out of the cab to support the crew, we want to hear from you.
