Forklift Operator / Dockhand – Afternoon Shift (Temperature-Controlled) Coolway Trans – Melbourne Depot About the role We’re looking for an experienced forklift operator / dockhand to join our Melbourne depot on an afternoon shift, Monday to Friday (2:00pm start) . You’ll be working across our temperature-controlled docks ( 0–4°C ) handling chilled freight, so previous cold-chain experience is essential. This is a hands-on role for someone who can run their own dock, work unsupervised, and keep freight moving accurately and on time. What you’ll be doing Loading and unloading trucks across temperature-controlled docks (0–4°C) Consolidating and configuring freight for 5–7 B-double loads , both inbound and outbound Loading B-doubles and road trains with correct weight distribution and load planning Handling LTL (less-than-truckload) temperature-controlled freight Checking, scanning and staging freight accurately Working independently to meet shift cut-off times Keeping the dock safe, clean and organised What you’ll need Previous experience in a cold / temperature-controlled environment (essential) Proven experience loading, unloading and consolidating temperature-controlled freight Experience loading B-doubles and road trains Current forklift licence (LF) Confidence working unsupervised and managing your own workload Available and willing to work overtime, including past 10:00pm on busy days (essential) Reliable, safety-focused and committed to afternoon shifts What’s on offer $40 per hour Full-time permanent role after a successful probation period Afternoon shift, Monday to Friday, 2:00pm start Plenty of overtime available for the right person All PPE supplied, including cold-environment gear Stable, ongoing role at a busy and growing depot
