ABOUT THE POSITION: As Collection Manager, Exhibition Collection Management, you will coordinate and undertake collection management activities associated with exhibitions, ensuring collection material is handled, documented, transported and displayed in accordance with established museum standards and procedures. Reporting to the Manager, Exhibition Collection Management, you will support exhibition projects throughout their lifecycle through the safe handling, movement, documentation and display of collection material, contributing to the delivery of engaging exhibitions across Museums Victoria. Some of the key duties include: Coordinating collection management activities and providing collection information and support to exhibition project teams throughout the exhibition lifecycle. Planning, coordinating and undertaking the installation and de-installation of collection material selected for exhibition. Managing the documentation and maintenance of records relating to collection material in accordance with museum standards and procedures. Coordinating the transport, packing, scheduling and tracking of exhibition objects, including support for Museums Victoria's travelling exhibition program. Providing guidance to contractors, temporary staff and volunteers in the safe handling, packing, movement and documentation of collection material. The successful applicant will have: Demonstrated experience managing and physically handling collection material for exhibition, including installation, display, movement and storage. Strong knowledge of museum collection documentation systems and collection management practices for multi-disciplinary collections. Experience providing collection management support and technical advice to exhibition project teams. Proven ability to plan, prioritise and manage work to meet complex schedules and strict deadlines. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders. OTHER INFORMATION This is a Full time, ongoing position. The salary on offer is a VPS3.1 Base salary of $81,496 per annum (pro rata) plus 12% superannuation.
