Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end delivery of structural design projects, preparing high-quality documentation using approved software and ensuring compliance with Orion Group standards and processes. Apply advanced engineering judgement, creativity and foresight to proactively identify, manage and resolve complex design challenges. Coordinate and mentor engineers and drafters, providing technical leadership, quality oversight and guidance to support team capability and career development. Manage client and stakeholder relationships, including liaison with consultants and authorities, while overseeing inspections, reporting and certification requirements. Prepare fee proposals, tender submissions, scopes of work and project budgets, ensuring effective commercial management, invoicing and financial performance. Contribute to business growth and continuous improvement by strengthening drafting standards, implementing best-practice systems and actively identifying new project and revenue opportunities. Skills and Expertise Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with current CPEng (Chartered Professional Engineer) and RPEQ accreditation. Minimum 8 years’ structural design experience across residential, commercial and industrial projects, with advanced proficiency in structural design and AutoCAD software. Advanced knowledge and practical application of relevant Australian Standards and core structural engineering principles. Proven ability to independently prepare detailed and concept structural designs, technical reports and coordinated drawing packages with a high level of accuracy. Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines and deliver within budget constraints. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment. Current Class C Driver’s Licence and White Card (WHS Construction Induction).
