The Southport School is seeking an experienced and highly organised Development Officer to join our Development Office team on a permanent part time basis (3 days per week). Working closely with the Director of Development, this role plays a key part in supporting the School’s philanthropic vision – strengthening community connections, supporting fundraising initiatives, and helping to build a lasting legacy for future generations of TSS students. About the Role As Development Officer, you will contribute to the delivery of fundraising, alumni engagement, and community programs across the School and TSS Foundation. Key Responsibilities Support the planning and delivery of fundraising appeals, sponsorship opportunities, and donor programs Coordinate events including Foundation functions, business breakfasts, and community engagement activities Maintain and optimise the donor CRM database, ensuring data accuracy and integrity Assist with donor communications, reporting, research, and pipeline development Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, alumni, and community stakeholders Provide high-quality administrative and operational support to the Director of Development You will also work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders, including the TSS Foundation, Old Southportonian’s Association (OSA), Marketing and Communities Team, P&F groups, and sponsors/donors. About You You are a proactive, detail-oriented professional who combines strong administrative capability with relationship-building skills. Key Skills & Experience 3-5 years’ experience in an office, education, alumni, fundraising or similar environment Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines Proven experience working with CRM systems and databases (experience in a school environment is an advantage) Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service focus Ability to create digital content and use social media platforms High-level attention to detail and data accuracy Confidence using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) Sound judgement when handling confidential information A collaborative flexible approach, with availability for occasional after-hours events Requirements Paid Blue Card (Working with Children Check) (Essential) Current Drivers Licence (Essential) Current Criminal History Check (Essential) Eligibility to work in Australia (Essential) Qualifications in Marketing, Public Relations, Business or a related discipline (Desirable) Experience supporting fundraising, philanthropy, or alumni engagement programs (Desirable) Why Join TSS?
