Position Summary Are you an ICU/CCU or HDU nurse? The Registered Nurse in the Close Observation Unit is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring continuous or frequent monitoring. The role involves early recognition of clinical deterioration, timely intervention, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments upon admission and throughout the shift Monitor vital signs, cardiac telemetry, oxygen therapy, and neurological status Identify and respond promptly to changes in patient condition Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately Initiate emergency response procedures when required Maintain accurate and timely documentation Implement fall prevention, infection control, and patient safety protocols Coordinate with physicians and allied health professionals Provide patient and family education and emotional support Prepare patients for transfer, discharge, or escalation of care Qualifications & Requirements AHPRA registration Bachelor’s degree in nursing Minimum 1 to 2 years of acute care, step-down, telemetry, or emergency experience Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred) Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and teamwork abilities What We Offer Up to $57 per hour Professional development and training opportunities Supportive team environment Opportunities for career advancement Flexible scheduling options If you would like more information on this role, please email phoebe.cantlon@healthcareaustralia.com.au or call 0407 066 675
