About the role We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced construction professional to play a key role in the tendering and pre-construction process, working closely with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for reviewing tender opportunities, preparing accurate cost estimates, coordinating tender submissions, and supporting successful project handovers. You will have the opportunity to influence project outcomes from the earliest stages while contributing to the continued growth and success of the business. Key Responsibilities Review and assess tender opportunities, completing tender assessments and providing recommendations to management. Analyse plans, specifications, and tender documentation to prepare accurate estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQs). Develop trade and supplier packages, coordinate site visits, and obtain competitive quotations. Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and internal teams throughout the Request for Tender (RFT) process. Evaluate, negotiate, and compare subcontractor and supplier pricing. Prepare detailed cost estimates, margin summaries, and tender submission documentation. Coordinate all tender deliverables to ensure submission requirements are completed accurately and on time. Develop construction programs using Microsoft Project. Prepare project handover documentation for the Project Delivery Team. Maintain pricing libraries, supplier databases, and estimating records. Assist Project Managers and Engineers with subcontractor selection and procurement activities. Update forecasting and tender tracking reports on a regular basis. Ensure compliance with Quality, Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), and Environmental Management Systems. Job Requirements Previous experience in an Estimator, Junior Estimator, or similar construction-based role. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, tendering processes, and cost estimation principles. Experience preparing quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities. Ability to interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications. Experience working with subcontractors and suppliers, including pricing and negotiations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with experience using Microsoft Project highly regarded. Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously. Commitment to quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
