We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Community Events Officer to join Narrabri Shire Council to deliver impactful experiences and initiatives that bring our vibrant community together. About the Role: As a Community Events Officer, you will implement, and oversee a diverse range of events, from intimate gatherings to large-scale festivals, ensuring every detail is flawlessly executed. This position encourages you to use your creativity, your fun loving attitude, organisational skills and your ability to build strong connections with others. Your responsibilities include: Assist with planning a variety of community and civil events and projects. Liaise with local businesses and community groups. Provide support to event marketing and promotion in conjunction with Council's marketing team. Oversee site management requirements for all performances and events. Provide administration support to all areas of the Visitor Information Centre. Ability to meet and handle statutory requirements and deadlines. Participate in an on-call roster, weekend work, reasonable overtime and disaster and emergency situations when required. For further information please refer to the attached Position Description. About You: The ideal candidate has excellent verbal and written communication skills and exhibits outstanding skills in analytical thinking, problem-solving and task prioritisation. You will have a high level of administration skills and be able to deliver clear communication to a diverse range of stakeholders. The ideal candidate also has: Demonstrated experience in event management. Excellent planning and organisational skills. Able to work individually as well as in a team environment. Strong time management and problem-solving skills. Understanding of Risk Management related to events.
