Job Description Position: APS5/6 Digital Support Officer / Business Analyst Location: Canberra, ACT Start date: August 2026 Duration: Approx. 12 months with potential to extend Pay rate: Rates negotiable dependent on skills and experience Security requirements: NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance minimum Overview Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced APS5/6 Digital Support Officer / Business Analyst to support business process automation, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives within a dynamic operational environment. This role will work closely with business users to understand requirements, improve processes, and deliver practical digital solutions using Microsoft 365 and Power Platform technologies. Responsibilities: • Engage with business users to understand current processes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. • Gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements. • Recommend practical digital solutions using enterprise technologies. • Design, build, and maintain solutions using SharePoint Online, Power Automate, Power Apps and Power BI. • Manage enhancement backlogs and implement improvements to existing digital solutions and workflows. • Ensure solutions align with organisational standards and are user-friendly and sustainable. • Develop user documentation, training materials, and knowledge transfer resources. • Provide user support and assist with the adoption of new and existing digital solutions. • Collaborate with internal ICT teams and stakeholders as required. • Contribute to ongoing process improvement and automation initiatives. Experience/requirements: • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Power Platform technologies. • Understanding of data modelling, reporting, and business intelligence concepts. • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into digital solutions. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a collaborative environment. • Experience supporting automation, workflow, and reporting solutions. Desirable: • Experience working within Australian Government environments. • Knowledge of information management and information security principles.
