About the program: LMA has entered into an arrangement with BAE, Saab and CoA (MIWS) for the execution of all Combat System Integration work related to the Aegis Surface Combatant fleet. The agreement, called the Combat Systems Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT) Collaboration Agreement or CCA forms a collaborative enterprise organisation to execute scopes of work across Hobart Class Destroyer (SEA4000 Phase 6 and other related Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) upgrades) and the Hunter Class Frigates (HCFs - SEA5000 Phase 1). The CSI-IPT evolves the current independently executing programs such as SEA4000 Phase 6 and SEA5000 Phase 1 under an umbrella enterprise organisation formed as a program of programs. Your responsibilities will include: We are seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to join the CSI-IPT team supporting the DDG Combat System Integration program. Reporting to the Safety & Environment Lead, this role is responsible for delivering system safety activities in line with the System Safety Program Plan (SSPP), ensuring safety risks are identified, managed, and communicated across the program. Key responsibilities: Lead and conduct system safety analyses in line with MIL-STD-882E Manage the CSI Hazard Log and support safety artefact development and maintenance Manage CDRL deliveries, including customer engagement and comment resolution Support integration of safety across design, production, test, and systems engineering activities Contribute to system reviews, safety working groups, and progress reporting Provide safety guidance to stakeholders across the program Support mentoring of junior engineers and represent the Safety Lead when required Ensure compliance with export control, sensitive information, and program processes About you: You will bring: Extensive experience across the system safety lifecycle in Defence or complex engineering environments Strong understanding of WHS legislation and System Safety principles (including SFARP) Experience conducting safety analysis and managing safety artefacts Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle and requirements management Desirable: Experience with MIL-STD-882E and Safety Management Systems Experience with FTA or other safety analysis techniques Experience in maritime or combat systems programs Special Requirements: Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
