Position: Mechanical Engineering Technician Position Type : Full-Time Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation per annum Location: Minto NSW 2566 Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to join their team located in Minto, Sydney New South Wales. As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, you will support the operation, technical performance, and continuous improvement of the transport and distribution business. The business specialises in the custom manufacture of Truck Bodies, Trailers, and modifications, and also specialises in the repair and restoration of heavy vehicles, in addition to trailer hire, sales, and Servicing. This role provides technical support to production and maintenance functions, assisting in the monitoring, diagnosis, optimisation, and documentation of mechanical production systems to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operation. Key Responsibilities: ·Operate, maintain and troubleshoot trucks and trailers to ensure efficient production performance and minimal downtime. ·Assemble, install and test mechanical components and machine tools to ensure compliance with operational and quality standards. ·Perform repairs and maintenance to a high trade standard. ·Prepare and interpret technical drawings, specifications, machine settings and maintenance documentation to support engineering and production activities. ·Carry out preventive maintenance inspections and accurately record service data. ·Collaborate with fabricators, technicians, and assistants to develop and implement effective solutions. ·Promote and maintain a strong safety-first approach in all tasks. Requirements: ·Diploma qualification or higher in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical or a related technical discipline. ·Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment involving mechanical systems and equipment. ·Sound knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic systems, including the operation and performance of production equipment. ·Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, equipment manuals, and engineering documentation. ·Experience in supporting equipment troubleshooting, coordinating maintenance activities, and implementing reliability and continuous improvement initiatives. ·Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently. ·Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with production, maintenance, and engineering personnel.
