About the Role Saltire is actively seeking experienced Drainers with experience to join our team. Operational duties of a Drainer include: Establishes and maintains trenches to precise depths and gradients for laying pipes. Install various sizes and types of pipework, new culverts, and stormwater systems per technical specifications. Refilling trenches and compacting soil to ensure group stability Conduct CCTV camera inspections to diagnose drainage issues such as blockages and structural damage. Perform pressure testing and other diagnostics to identify leaks and faults. Operate heavy machinery including Telehandlers and Crew Trucks, as well as hand tools for excavation and pipe laying. Diagnosis, maintenance and repairs of piping systems. Locate existing underground services. Clear debris and excavate trenches for pipe installations. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and environmental guidelines. Qualifications Experience (at least 3 years preferred) in civil construction work sites and working around live services Relevant experience in pipe laying Flexibility to work overtime, shifts, and regional assignments as required Strong understanding of safety regulations and confined space procedures. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
