An opportunity exists for an experienced Supply Chain Material Planner to join an International Automotive company in Melbourne's western suburbs. This role is responsible for ensuring materials are available to meet customer demand while optimising inventory and supplier performance. The role is primarily office-based, with regular interaction across warehouse and production operations. Key Responsibilities Perform MRP analysis to align customer demand with supplier capacity and lead times Develop and manage material plans based on forecasts and purchase orders Monitor stock levels, in-transit inventory, and shipping schedules to identify shortages Maintain accurate system data to support real-time decision-making Generate shortage reports, material arrival reports, and escalation reports Manage inventory levels and classification (ABC analysis) Liaise with suppliers to manage deliveries, lead times, and performance issues Coordinate logistics planning with freight forwarders and internal teams Review non-standard orders and confirm delivery feasibility Track returnable packaging and manage stock movements Manage excess and non-moving inventory Communicate material-related delivery changes to customers Skills & Experience Proven experience in material planning / supply chain role within manufacturing Strong working knowledge of MRP systems Understanding of supply chain processes including forecasting, demand planning, and logistics Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Excellent organisational and time management skills Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Business, Finance or related field or equivalent industry experience Key Success Measures Inventory performance aligned with sales forecasts Supplier performance against delivery and KPI targets Reduction in excess and obsolete inventory Effective management of material availability and shortages To submit your application in strict confidence, click the 'apply' button.
