The Role We are seeking a Human Resource Adviser to join our head office and provide comprehensive staffing and human resources administration services in support of Tasfreight's human resource policies and programs. This is a generalist, frontline HR role critical to supporting our growing workforce across multiple states. Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Selection: Arrange for advertising of job vacancies across our seven depots; interview and test applicants; and coordinate the selection of staff for permanent roles in line with operational requirements. HR Information Systems: Maintain accurate personnel records and associated human resource information systems for over 200 permanent employees, ensuring data integrity across our multi-site operation. Workplace Relations Advice: Provide advice and information to management on workplace relations policies and procedures, staff performance and disciplinary matters, drawing on knowledge of the transport and logistics industry. Induction& Onboarding: Arrange the induction of new staff and provide information on conditions of service, salaries and promotional opportunities, ensuring smooth integration into our depot-based teams. Frontline HR Support: Provide generalist HR advice and support to managers and employees across our interstate network, addressing routine enquiries through a range of channels including phone, email and on-site visits. Legislative Compliance: Apply relevant legislation and policy frameworks — including the Fair Work Act, transport industry awards and occupational health and safety regulations — to process routine enquiries and ensure compliance. Training & Development: Advise and assist others in applying sound recruitment and selection practices, and appropriate induction, training and development programs to support workforce capability across our depots. Employee Engagement & Safety: Assist with occupational health and safety initiatives, employee engagement programs and employee capability development, contributing to a positive workplace culture in a physically demanding industry. HR Projects: Contribute to and coordinate HR-related projects, including workforce planning for our expanding interstate operations and initiatives to retain talent in a competitive labour market. Stakeholder Management: Manage stakeholder relationships with depot managers, external service providers and union representatives to support harmonious workplace relations. About You 5 years of work experience in a generalist HR advisory role, ideally within the transport, logistics or similar industrial sector. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical advice to managers and employees at all levels. Proficiency in HR information systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Willingness to travel interstate to our depots as required. Why Join Us?
