We’re partnering with a large-scale enterprise organisation currently investing heavily in modern engineering capability, cloud-native platforms, and highly available distributed systems. This is an opportunity for a high-performing Senior Software Engineer who wants more than simply delivering tickets. The team is looking for an engineer with strong technical judgement, ownership mentality, and the ambition to step into Tech Lead responsibilities in the near future. You’ll join a collaborative engineering environment working on complex, business-critical platforms used at significant scale. The role suits someone who enjoys solving ambiguous problems, influencing technical direction, and making pragmatic architecture decisions in fast-moving enterprise environments. You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and evolving scalable cloud-native applications while contributing to engineering standards and technical uplift across the team. Key responsibilities include: Designing and developing enterprise-grade applications using .NET and Azure Building highly available, real-time, event-driven systems Contributing to architecture decisions across distributed systems and cloud services Driving technical initiatives end-to-end with a high level of autonomy Collaborating closely with engineers, stakeholders, and product teams in Agile delivery environments Improving engineering practices, delivery standards, and system reliability Mentoring and influencing other engineers within the team Applying pragmatic decision-making around architecture patterns and technical trade-offs This role is ideal for someone who understands that good engineering is not about over-engineering solutions — it’s about applying the right approach for the problem at hand. We’re interested in engineers with strong fundamentals, curiosity, and leadership potential rather than simply matching a rigid technology checklist. You’ll likely bring: Strong experience across the Microsoft .NET ecosystem Experience building applications within Azure or other cloud-native environments Strong SQL/database design capability Exposure to enterprise-scale or high-availability systems Experience working within Agile engineering teams Strong system design and problem-solving capability Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments A proactive, resourceful approach to delivery and stakeholder engagement Additional experience that would be highly regarded includes: Event-driven architectures Distributed systems or microservices MongoDB or NoSQL databases Domain-Driven Design (DDD) Trunk-based development practices Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who demonstrates: Ownership and initiative Strong engineering judgement Curiosity and continuous learning Pragmatism in technical decision-making Leadership ambition and influencing capability This is a genuine growth role for someone already operating as a strong Senior Engineer and looking to progress toward Tech Lead or Staff Engineer pathways over the next 12–24 months.
