We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Aged / Disability Carer to join our team. Position Overview As an Aged / Disability Carer, you will provide personal care, assistance, and support to elderly individuals and people living with disabilities. You will assist clients with daily living activities, encourage independence, and contribute to their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing while maintaining a safe and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support. Assist clients with daily living activities and promote independence wherever possible. Support clients with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and monitoring dietary requirements. Assist clients with medication administration in accordance with care plans and organisational policies. Monitor and report changes in clients’ physical, emotional, and behavioural conditions. Provide companionship, emotional support, and encouragement to enhance clients’ wellbeing and quality of life. Assist clients in participating in social, recreational, and community activities. Support clients with household tasks including cleaning, laundry, shopping, and maintaining a safe living environment. Follow individual care plans and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, families, and support coordinators. Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and incident reports. Ensure clients’ rights, privacy, dignity, and cultural preferences are respected at all times. Adhere to workplace health and safety requirements, infection control procedures, and organisational policies. Skills and Qualifications AQF Certificate III or higher qualification in Individual Support (Ageing and/or Disability), Aged Care, Disability Support, Community Services, or a related field. Genuine passion for supporting elderly individuals and people living with disabilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to provide person-centred care with empathy, patience, and respect. Strong observation, problem-solving, and organisational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional standards. Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes. Preferred Requirements Previous experience in aged care, disability support, home care, or residential care settings. Current National Police Check. Current First Aid and CPR Certificate. NDIS Worker Screening Check (preferred). Working with Vulnerable People Registration (ACT) or ability to obtain. Valid Australian Driver Licence.
