We are looking for a qualified and experienced chef and cook to join our business on a full-time basis. To be considered for this position, you must : Have previous experience in the industry or in a similar role (at least 1 year) Diploma/Certificate III/IV in cookery or equivalent Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations. Passion for creating delicious and high-quality food. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team Chef Job Responsibilities : Create innovative and seasonal menus that align with the restaurant’s vision and target audience. Controlling and directing the food preparation process, ensuring the dishes are of the highest quality and are cooked according to set menus Supervising kitchen personnel and coordinating efforts to fulfill restaurant needs. Reviewing staffing levels to meet service, operational, and financial objectives. Manage food inventory, control costs, and reduce waste. Work closely with suppliers to source fresh ingredients and negotiate pricing. Monitor and control kitchen expenses, including food costs, labor costs, and overhead. Contribute to profitability by managing costs effectively. Work closely with restaurant management to plan special events, promotions, and seasonal offerings. Communicate regularly with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service Providing guidance and training to junior staff. Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and updating policies regularly as needed. Obtaining feedback on food and service quality, and handling customer problems and complaints. Cook job responsibilities Prepare and assemble ingredients for menu items. Prepare high-quality meals and food items according to company recipes. Store excess food at the correct temperature in order to avoid spoilage. Ensure that food portions and food presentation meet company standards. Monitor supplies and re-order stock as needed. Ensure that cooking utensils are clean before each use. Clean and sterilize food preparation areas. Assist other cooks to ensure that food orders are completed in a timely manner. Efficiently resolve problems with customers’ orders.
