Senior Project Accountant Sydney | Up to $150,000 Super Based full-time on site in Sydney CBD Overview An opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Senior Project Accountant to join an ASX listed, capital-intensive, project driven business during a significant growth phase. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role will play a key part in supporting major capital projects and delivering accurate, value-add financial insights to senior leadership. This is a high visibility role suited to an adaptable and proactive finance professional who enjoys operating in a dynamic environment and partnering across the business. About the Business Our client is an ASX listed, capital-intensive, project driven organisation entering a significant investment and growth phase. With projected CAPEX expenditure exceeding $100m across the next 12–18 months, the business is continuing to scale operations and strengthen its finance capability. About the Role Reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with the finance management and the wider leadership team, responsibilities will include: Project accounting across multiple high-value CAPEX projects Cost tracking, forecasting and variance analysis Supporting month-end close and financial reporting processes Preparation and analysis of project financial data for senior leadership Business partnering with operational and project stakeholders across the organisation Assisting with budgeting, cashflow forecasting and project reporting requirements Oversight of the AP Clerk Supporting the continued growth and scalability of the finance function as projects expand over time Key Requirements The successful candidate will demonstrate: CA/CPA qualification (or near completion) Proven project accounting experience within a capital-intensive or project-based environment Strong technical accounting capability, including forecasting, cost analysis and reporting Advanced Excel skills Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting processes Strong communication and stakeholder management capability across all levels of a business Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment A proactive and adaptable approach with the confidence to work autonomously What’s in it for You Salary up to $150,000 Super plus short term and long term bonuses/incentives Exposure to major high-value capital projects Direct interaction with senior leadership including the CFO Strong long-term career growth as the business continues to scale Broad, commercially focused role with significant visibility across the organisation Collaborative and high-performing team environment with a genuine ownership mentality How to Apply For a confidential discussion, please contact AJ Blyth at Sharp & Carter on ajblyth@sharpandcarter.com.au or click Apply to express interest.
