Over the next 12 months, their planned growth creates a rare opportunity for a talented Residential Building Designer or Architect who wants more than a production drafting role. We're looking for someone who can combine the efficiency and commercial awareness of volume housing with the creativity and client focus of bespoke residential design. Most importantly, we're seeking someone who wants to grow into a leadership position and build a design function around them as the business expands. The Opportunity This is an exciting role where you'll work directly with clients to design homes that reflect their lifestyle, budget and aspirations while maintaining the efficiencies required in a growing residential building business. You'll have the freedom to influence our design direction, processes and technology platform. Whether your preference is Revit or ArchiCAD, we're open to adopting the system that best supports the right candidate. Working closely with the leadership team, you'll become a key contributor to the next phase of growth. What You'll Be Doing Designing residential homes for custom and semi-custom clients Conducting client design consultations and translating ideas into practical, buildable outcomes Producing concept designs, design development and documentation Creating home designs that balance aesthetics, functionality, cost and construction efficiency Working closely with estimating, sales and construction teams throughout the design process Refining and expanding the inhouse design offering and standard home range Establishing design systems, processes and best practices as the business grows Helping build and eventually lead a dedicated internal design team What We're Looking For Experience in residential building design, architecture or architectural drafting Previous exposure to volume home building is highly desirable Ability to confidently engage with clients and guide design conversations Strong understanding of residential planning, construction methods and building regulations Proficiency in Revit or ArchiCAD (or the capability to lead the business in selecting and implementing one platform) A strong design eye with the ability to create homes that stand out in a competitive market Commercial awareness and understanding of buildability and cost constraints Ambition to grow into a leadership role over time If you're ready to take ownership of a growing design function and help shape the future of a boutique builder with ambitious growth plans, we'd love to hear from you.
