About the Position The Motor Mechanic role is a hands-on, workshop-based position responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of light vehicles. Working as part of a skilled team, you will play an important part in upholding our standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The role involves everything from routine servicing and scheduled maintenance through to complex fault diagnosis and repairs, making a direct contribution to the smooth day-to-day operation of the workshop and the trust our clients place in us. Key Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in light vehicles using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and systematic testing procedures. Perform routine maintenance and servicing including oil and filter changes, brake inspections and repairs, suspension work, steering alignment, and tyre services. Carry out repairs and replacements on engines, transmissions, cooling systems, fuel systems, and exhaust components as required. Conduct pre- and post-repair inspections and test drives to verify faults and confirm repairs have been completed correctly. Use hand tools, power tools, workshop equipment, and computer-based diagnostic systems safely and effectively. Maintain accurate job records, including parts used, labour time, and work performed, in line with workshop procedures. Follow all workplace health and safety requirements and contribute to maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment. Work collaboratively with service advisors and other team members to meet job deadlines and deliver positive customer outcomes. Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience working as a Motor Mechanic in a workshop environment. Strong technical skills in diagnosing and repairing faults across engine, transmission, braking, steering, suspension, and electrical systems, together with proficiency in the use of modern diagnostic equipment and workshop tools; excellent problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Strong interpersonal skills including clear communication, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, reliability, and a customer-focused attitude.
