About the role The Landscape Gardener is responsible for the execution of high-quality landscaping projects and the ongoing maintenance of premium residential and commercial gardens across New South Wales. This role involves a combination of soft landscaping, horticultural maintenance, and minor hard landscaping works. The incumbent will ensure that all outdoor spaces managed by Lavish Gardens NSW are maintained to the highest aesthetic and biological standards, reflecting the premium brand of the company. Duties and Responsibilities Landscape Design and Installation: Design and install hardscape features like walls, fences, and patios, as well as softscape elements like gardens and lawns. Site Preparation: Prepare soil and grounds for planting, including seedbeds and lawn areas. Planting and Propagation: Plant trees, bushes, hedges, flowers, and bulbs, and propagate plants for growth. Lawn Care: Establish and maintain lawns through soil preparation, seeding or turfing, and ongoing maintenance like mowing and fertilizing. Plant Maintenance: Maintain planted areas through weeding, trimming, fertilizing, and watering. Tree Care: Prune trees and hedges, assess tree health, and perform necessary treatments. Pest and Disease Management: Control pests and diseases through spraying, dusting, or other methods. Construction and Installation: Build structures like pergolas, ponds, and barbecues, and install garden furniture and other features such as gravel and paved areas, walls, fences. Install, program, and maintain automated irrigation systems (drip and spray). Operate and maintain power tools and machinery Act as a primary point of contact for clients on-site, providing professional advice on plant health and garden improvements. Communicate project progress and any potential issues to the Management team promptly. Essential Skills Understanding of plants, soil, and climate conditions Knowledge of various tools, equipment, and materials used in landscaping Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and irrigation diagrams. A keen eye for garden aesthetics and a commitment to high-quality finishes. Ability to work efficiently to meet project deadlines and maintenance schedules. Physically fit.
