About the role Ten Recruitment a pleased to represent a leading construction contractor as a full-time Commercial/Residential Estimator based in Western Australia, with opportunities to work from either a metropolitan or regional office. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for providing reliable cost estimates for projects up to $10M. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial part in supporting the company’s competitive position within the construction industry. What you'll be doing Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for a range of commercial construction projects Coordinate estimate preparation, calculate and prepare quantities, and compile tender submissions Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing Analyse and solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to identify materials, labour, and equipment requirements Research and evaluate supplier pricing to ensure cost-effective solutions Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to refine estimates and identify cost savings Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with clients and subcontractors Maintain a comprehensive database of historical cost data to inform future estimates Provide guidance and support throughout tender and bidding processes Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes Work independently and manage multiple projects confidently Undertake tendering and bid preparation, including scope review, risk assessment, and complexity analysis What we're looking for Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Commercial Estimator within the construction industry Strong technical ability in reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings, and specifications Proficiency in estimating software and digital tools (experience with Procore and CostX desirable) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on cost efficiency High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality Strong communication and collaboration skills Exposure to a variety of project types including commercial, industrial, and design & construct projects Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Estimating, or related field https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-technical-and-engineering-network
