Drill Operator – FIFO We are seeking a skilled Drill Operator with proven experience operating Horizontal Directional Drills (HDD) for a long term, ongoing contract in Canberra. What you’ll be doing: Operates directional drilling rigs and support equipment Drilling underground bore paths for pipes, conduits, or cables Reading and interpreting plans, utility maps and site drawings Uses tracking and locating systems to guide the drill head accurately Monitors drilling fluid (“mud”) systems and pressures Performs equipment inspections and maintenance Coordinates with locators, offsiders, excavator operators, and supervisors Ensures underground assets (water, gas, power, telecom) are avoided Follows safety and environmental procedures About the Role: Experience with HDD Operation is essential Canberra based - flights and accommodation provided 10 days on, 4 days off– flexibility with the working arrangements Working in NBN/Communication field is desirable but not essential Competitive rates offered
