Motor Mechanic (TWO POSITIONS) About the Business: An established automotive workshop located in Prospect, South Australia is seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join its professional team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining a broad range of motor vehicles in accordance with industry standards and manufacturer specifications. The role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality workmanship within a fast-paced workshop environment. Key Responsibilities: • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using specialised diagnostic equipment and testing procedures • Perform repairs, servicing, and maintenance on engines, transmissions, suspension systems, steering systems, braking systems, and associated vehicle components • Conduct routine maintenance and scheduled servicing in accordance with manufacturer guidelines • Inspect vehicles to identify faults, wear, and necessary repairs or replacements • Remove, repair, and replace defective parts and components using appropriate tools and equipment • Carry out post-repair testing and road testing to ensure vehicle safety, performance, and compliance standards are met • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, services, and parts utilised • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and workshop procedures • Provide technical advice and recommendations regarding vehicle repairs and maintenance requirements when required Essential Criteria: • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification • Minimum 1 - 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience as a Motor Mechanic • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle mechanical systems • Strong technical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship • Current Australian driver licence preferred and good communication skills What We Offer: • Competitive remuneration package commensurate with skills and experience • Stable, long-term full-time employment opportunity • Supportive and professional working environment • Access to modern workshop facilities and diagnostic equipment • Opportunity for ongoing professional development and career progression Applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.
