Job Description Mechanical Engineering Technician Location: Adelaide, SA Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: AUD $77,000 - $90,000 per annum About the Role SEC Business Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team. The role is based on-site and involves supporting the maintenance, operation, and improvement of mechanical systems within industrial facilities. The successful candidate will contribute to ensuring equipment reliability, efficiency, and safe operation across plant and production systems. This position plays an important role in maintaining mechanical performance standards and supporting engineering and maintenance activities. Ensure plant and machinery are operating in accordance with required standards to maintain efficiency and safety Operate and support mechanical systems and assist with preventive and corrective maintenance activities Conduct testing, measurements, and calibration of mechanical equipment to verify performance standards Assist engineers with technical drawings, specifications, and CAD-related documentation for equipment and system improvements Support engineering and maintenance teams in process improvement and equipment optimisation initiatives Provide technical input for procurement, including equipment selection and supplier evaluation Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on equipment such as pumps, compressors, conveyors, and hydraulic systems Diagnose mechanical faults and assist in implementing corrective solutions to reduce downtime Assist in analysing maintenance data and preparing reports on equipment performance Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements Provide technical support to operational staff when required What We're Looking For Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Minimum 3 years' experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician or in a similar role Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or processing environment Strong understanding of mechanical systems, principles, and maintenance practices Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills Good attention to detail and ability to maintain high workmanship standards Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication skills (written and verbal) What We Offer Full-time employment Salary range: AUD $77,000 - $90,000 per annum Supportive working environment with exposure to industrial operations Opportunities for training and professional development Career progression opportunities within the organisation * On-site role within a structured operational environment
