The Company Our client is an established Australian mining company operating a copper and gold asset in North Queensland. Following a period of operational transition and investment, the business is entering a growth phase focused on improving plant performance, asset reliability and operational efficiency. The operation includes a conventional flotation and gravity processing plant, a dedicated 19.5MW gas fired power station, extensive maintenance infrastructure and a significant capital improvement program planned across the site. The Opportunity This is a pivotal leadership position with accountability across both processing and maintenance functions. Reporting directly to the SSE/General Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the processing plant while leading maintenance execution, reliability improvement, asset management and capital project delivery. The role requires a leader capable of aligning processing and maintenance teams, improving operational discipline, driving accountability and delivering measurable performance improvements across the operation. A major focus of the position will be supporting a substantial plant upgrade program, improving flotation circuit performance, increasing plant reliability and ensuring operational readiness for future growth opportunities. Key Responsibilities Lead processing, maintenance and technical teams across the operation Drive plant performance, recovery, reliability and operational efficiency Oversee maintenance planning, shutdowns, asset management and equipment availability Manage operational budgets, forecasting, cost control and capital improvement projects Build organisational capability, safety culture and leadership succession across site About You Previous Processing Manager, Maintenance Manager, Plant Manager or Operations Manager experience Strong leadership capability across multidisciplinary teams Background within mineral processing operations Experience leading maintenance, reliability or asset management functions Exposure to flotation, base metals, copper, gold or similar processing environments Demonstrated ability to improve operational performance and lead change Experience delivering plant upgrades, shutdowns or capital projects highly regarded Candidates with either a strong processing background, strong maintenance background, or genuine exposure across both disciplines are encouraged to apply.
