We are seeking a motivated and experienced Site Engineer (Electrical) to join our team on a major utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. This is a hands-on site role where you will support the delivery of complex electrical infrastructure including switchgear, transformers, inverters, and HV/LV cabling, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality installation across all stages of construction and commissioning. Key Responsibilities Assist with planning and scheduling electrical construction activities, ensuring efficient use of resources and tracking project progress. Supervise the installation of electrical systems (switchgear, transformers, inverters) and ensure compliance with design, safety, and Australian standards. Ensure adherence to electrical codes, safety regulations, and environmental requirements while conducting risk assessments and safety meetings. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution and manage subcontractor performance to meet quality and timeline requirements. Maintain accurate project schedules, daily reports, and site documentation for compliance and audits, while assisting with pricing variations and electrical estimations if required. Identify and address electrical challenges on-site, providing effective solutions and implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance project execution. Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience. Proven experience in large electrical infrastructure projects, preferably in renewable energy, battery storage, substations, or electrical distribution. Strong knowledge of BESS electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, inverters, and cabling. Familiarity with Australian electrical standards (AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439, AS/NZS 5033, etc.). Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications, with experience in commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
