27th May, 2026 Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 superannuation Location: Hope Island, QLD Work style: Primarily office-based with flexible start/finish times Why This Role This is an opportunity for an Intermediate Accountant to join a boutique accounting firm providing tax, accounting and advisory services to a diverse client base across Australia. The role will suit someone with local public practice experience who wants to build stronger technical foundations, work closely with firm leadership and gain exposure to more than routine compliance work. You will work across companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSFs, SMEs, large corporations and family groups, with exposure to tax planning, key tax issues and broader client support. About Our Client Our client is an established accounting and advisory firm based in Hope Island, offering accounting, tax, business advisory, financial planning and finance services under one roof. The group has around 50 staff across the broader business, with a large accounting division and specialist teams supporting delivery and workflow. The office is located at Hope Island Central with free onsite parking and convenient local amenities. The Role As an Intermediate Accountant in the Business Advisory team, you will support clients across compliance, reporting and broader tax matters. Your responsibilities will include: Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs Working across tax matters including GST, CGT, FBT and Div 7A Supporting tax planning and key tax issue resolution Maintaining asset registers, journals and reconciliations Working with large corporations, SMEs and large family groups Researching and interpreting taxation legislation, rulings and related guidance Liaising with the ATO on behalf of clients, including lodgement extensions and payment arrangements Managing and administering matters across your client list Attending relevant training courses and professional development events What You'll Bring More than 2 years of local business services experience Desire to complete CA or CPA qualification Strong written and verbal communication skills Good attention to detail and a practical approach to client work Ability to work in a self-directed environment Strong research skills and willingness to build technical depth What's On Offer Competitive salary package: $75,000 - $85,000 super Flexible start/finish times (office-based environment) Strong support structure: admin support, bookkeeping team, SMSF specialists Study support and professional development External training sessions and regular team activities (firm-wide culture focus) Parking onsite and an easy-to-access Hope Island location Next Steps Click Apply to submit your resume.
