The Role Initially you’ll be right in the thick of it—owning projects from day dot through to handover. But the end goal is running and growing the existing team to give existing management the opportunity to breathe. A typical week might see you: Scoping up new work, getting into the detail of design, and seeing projects through construction Leading the design, analysis, and delivery of structural projects that actually get built (and built well) Keeping things humming by working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and the wider team Taking full ownership of your projects—planning, organising, and keeping everything on track for time, cost, and quality Looking for smarter ways to do things—continuous improvement is part of the deal Pulling together solid project plans, coordinating resources, and keeping everyone in the loop with clear, no-nonsense reporting Leading from the front—mentoring junior engineers and helping lift the overall capability of the team Managing stakeholder expectations with regular updates on progress, risks, budgets, and timelines What you’ll bring to the table We’re after someone who knows their stuff but is also easy to work with.
