The site operates a complex multi circuit plant and runs at a high intensity, performance driven standard. With approved capital spend and a clear pipeline of improvement initiatives, the operation is investing in technical capability to drive plant efficiency, recovery and long-term performance. The Opportunity Reporting directly to the Metallurgical Superintendent this role is focused on optimising plant performance through metallurgical leadership, technical analysis, and continuous improvement of the processing operations. You will provide technical guidance and leadership to the Plant Metallurgists and operational leaders by monitoring plant performance, driving initiatives to improve recovery, throughput, and cost efficiency. The role needs a leader and team player who will work closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure processing performance aligns with production targets and business objectives This role suits someone who can step beyond monitoring performance and instead identify opportunities, implement solutions and drive measurable improvements across the plant. Key Responsibilities Lead metallurgical performance monitoring and optimisation of the processing plant Analyse plant data to identify opportunities to improve recovery, throughput, and efficiency Provide technical guidance and mentoring to plant metallurgists and processing teams Develop and implement metallurgical improvement initiatives Oversee plant surveys, sampling programs, and metallurgical test work Ensure troubleshooting of plant performance issues and implement corrective actions Work closely with operations to optimise plant control and process stability Ensure metallurgical accounting and reconciliation processes are timely, accurate and reliable Contribute to production planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes Prepare and review metallurgical reports and performance summaries that are timely and accurate Maintain strong collaboration with geology, mining, and technical services teams About You Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering Extensive experience in gold processing and plant metallurgy Strong understanding of processing circuits including crushing, milling, leaching, adsorption, elution, and gold recovery Demonstrated experience in plant optimisation and metallurgical performance improvement Experience leading metallurgical teams or providing technical leadership Strong analytical and data interpretation skills Experience with metallurgical accounting and reporting systems Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capability What’s On Offer 8/6 roster Real opportunity to make a difference Strong technical team and leadership support Opportunity to drive real plant improvement outcomes FIFO, DIDO (from Townsville) or residential options considered How to Apply Apply via the link with a current resume.
