Service Manager — Single-Franchise Dealership (Top 5 Brand) | New England Region, NSW A genuine tree change opportunity for a fixed operations leader who knows their way around a workshop and isn't afraid to own the numbers — this is a Service Manager role with real scope to make the position your own. The Opportunity Our client is a well-established, single-franchise dealership representing one of the top 5 brands, based in the New England region of NSW, and has been owned and run by a hands-on operator for the past three years. The business has grown steadily over that time and is now at the point where it needs a dedicated, qualified Service Manager to take the workshop to the next level. You'll be stepping into a team of around 13, with a fixed operations crew of five plus yourself — three technicians/apprentices, a foreman who's still active on the tools, and a dedicated service advisor. The basics are covered; what's needed now is someone who can look at the operation commercially, identify where capacity is left on the table, and ensure the team is booked, productive, and maximising service hours. There's also genuine room to grow. The business is single-franchise but already fielding interest from other OEMs, and facilities permitting, there's scope for the role — and the department — to expand with it. What You'll Bring Experience as an Assistant Service Manager, Workshop Controller, or similar — ideally someone who's come up through the trade (on the tools, into a foreman role, then service advisor and into management). Genuine technical credibility — the ability to back up the team in a tricky customer conversation, not just relay what the foreman tells you. A commercial eye — comfortable looking at bookings, capacity and service hours and taking action when things aren't adding up. Leadership and coaching ability — keen to develop the team underneath you, including bringing a tech with you if that's part of your story. Genuine interest in a move to the New England region of NSW — this isn't a fly-in-fly-out gig, it's a relocation. The Lifestyle This is one of those rural moves that looks better the closer you get. Affordable housing (a real prospect if you're coming from Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne), a genuinely growing town with strong local industry and agriculture behind it, and the kind of community feel where you become part of the business rather than a cog in it. Add in frosty mornings, easy access to the Northern Tablelands, and a dealership that backs its people — it's a strong package for the right person. Salary is attractive and will be structured around experience — happy to discuss specifics in a confidential chat. How to Apply This role is being handled by Cameron Cresswell at Automotive Talent.
