Position Summary VICTORY AUTO & INSPECTIONS is seeking a skilled and reliable Motor Mechanic to support its automotive workshop and approved vehicle inspection operations in Queensland. The role involves carrying out mechanical repairs, vehicle servicing, diagnostics, inspections, roadworthy checks, and safety certificate-related services. Key Responsibilities Detects and diagnoses mechanical and electrical faults in engines, vehicle systems, and related components using appropriate diagnostic tools and workshop procedures. Inspect, test, dismantle, and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, suspension systems, brake components, and other mechanical parts to assess wear, damage, or faults. Repair, replace, adjust, and reassemble worn, damaged, or defective vehicle parts in accordance with manufacturer specifications and service manuals. Carry out scheduled vehicle servicing, including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, engine tune-ups, brake checks, fluid inspections, and general preventive maintenance. Test and repair braking, steering, suspension, cooling, exhaust, fuel, and ignition systems to ensure vehicles operate safely and efficiently. Fit, balance, rotate, inspect, and replace tyres, and conduct wheel alignment or tyre-related checks as required by the workshop’s tyre service operations. Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, hoists, and workshop machinery safely and correctly to complete mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks. Conduct road tests and post-repair inspections to confirm that faults have been rectified and that vehicles meet safety, performance, and roadworthiness requirements. Identify additional repair or maintenance requirements and report findings to supervisors, including estimated parts, labour, and service needs. Maintain accurate records of inspections, diagnostic findings, parts used, repairs completed, and services performed for customer and compliance purposes. Requirements Completion of a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent recognised vocational qualification in automotive mechanical repairs. Additional qualifications or training in automotive diagnostics, tyre fitting, wheel alignment, air conditioning, or automotive electrical systems will be highly regarded but are not mandatory. Minimum 1–2 years of practical experience in a motor mechanic, automotive servicing, tyre service, or mechanical repair workshop environment. Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, cooling systems, exhaust systems, and general vehicle maintenance.
