About the Role An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Operations Manager to support a high-performing NSW Government team responsible for strategic land and operational service delivery functions. This role will lead operational coordination, procurement governance, contract oversight, compliance management, and team administration activities to ensure smooth day-to-day operations across a diverse portfolio. You will play a key role in driving operational efficiency, supporting procurement and contract management activities, maintaining compliance with government frameworks, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Position : Policy and Planning Manager – $95.78 per hour super Location : Parramatta Working Arrangement : Hybrid - WFH and Office Start Date : 15 June 2026 Duration : Until 31 May 2027 Application Window : CV submissions close Tuesday 2 June COB Key Responsibilities Lead daily operational and administrative functions to support effective service delivery across the business unit Oversee procurement activities in line with NSW Government Procurement Policy Framework requirements Review procurement documentation, sourcing activities, and evaluation processes to ensure compliance and probity standards are maintained Manage contractor and supplier performance against agreed deliverables, KPIs, budgets, and timelines Monitor high-risk operational contracts including maintenance and environmental service agreements Support Work Health and Safety compliance activities, contractor safety management, and operational risk controls Prepare operational reports, dashboards, briefing materials, and performance tracking documentation Coordinate audit responses, compliance reviews, and regulatory reporting obligations Develop and improve operational procedures, governance frameworks, and business processes Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to operational and administrative team members Manage competing priorities across multiple operational streams and stakeholder groups Support financial tracking, invoice approvals, budget monitoring, and contract administration activities Liaise with internal business units, government stakeholders, and external service providers to achieve operational outcomes Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational planning activities Ensure accurate data management across procurement, contracts, and operational systems About You Demonstrated experience working within NSW Government environments Strong people leadership and stakeholder management capabilities Proven experience implementing or managing procurement activities under the NSW Procurement Policy Framework Experience overseeing operational service delivery, contract management, and compliance activities Strong understanding of governance, probity, audit, and risk management principles Demonstrated project management and operational coordination experience Experience developing operational procedures, policies, or process improvement initiatives Ability to manage multiple priorities within fast-paced and highly regulated environments Strong written communication skills with experience preparing reports, briefings, and operational documentation Experience using procurement, finance, or contract management systems within government settings Knowledge of WHS obligations and contractor management practices High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate operational records Relevant qualifications in Business, Procurement, Project Management, Public Administration, or a related discipline will be highly regarded Valid Australian working rights are required for this position.
