The Health and Injury Coordinator provides best practice guidance and assistance to the workforce in relation to injury management and return to work, early intervention, health education, hygiene monitoring and legislative requirements. The role: Advise, support, coach, communicate and assist managers, supervisors, and contractors in the implementation and adherence of Health Systems, Rules and Procedures. Drive a health and safety culture through the implementation of health initiatives and HSEC Plan to provide consistent focus Maintain a safe workplace by actively following and enforcing the Safety Systems and ensuring adherence to all HSEC Policies and Procedures Timely and accurate reporting of all incidents and hazards as required by WHS (Mines) Act and Regulations and the Glencore HSEC Standards Assist in development and maintenance of Health & Safety Standards with clear and measurable objectives to meet requirements of the HSEC Management Plan Assist with hazard identification and monitoring of Fatal Risk Controls in the workplace Conduct site inspections and routine audits to enforce compliance with HSEC Standards, Policies, Rules, and Work Procedures Implement action plans with input from the team for the treatment of risks Participate in HSEC audits, safety interactions, Planned Task Observations Participate in the development and implementation of necessary HSEC Policies, Systems, Standards, Safe Work Procedures and Plans to achieve safety plan objectives and KPI's Implement SafeCoal rules and promote effective controls of Fatal Hazards Develop, document and review the Health and Wellbeing Program including Physical Health programs, Mental health programs, Seasonal awareness and intervention programs. Review of pre-employment medicals and periodic health assessments Develop or coordinate employee educational programs related to occupational hygiene/health issues Manage and maintain the rehabilitation policy and procedures that assist injured personnel to return to work in a timely manner including Early Intervention programs, - Non-work-related support programs, Participation in claims reviews and corporate reporting. What we're looking for: Bachelor's degree in an Allied Health Profession (i.e., Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy) and associated registration with governing body (i.e., APHRA, ESSA) OR Tertiary qualifications in Safety, risk management or related discipline with at least 3 years experience in mining, construction or other heavy industry - essential 2 or more years in an injury management or related health support role. Return to Work Coordinator Accreditation in accordance with SIRA requirements.
