This position offers a unique blend of hands-on livestock work and high-level operational responsibility within an intensive 2000-acre mixed farming system. Your primary focus will involve the daily management of the accredited feedlot, where monitoring animal health, welfare, and performance is critical. You will be responsible for mixing rations, administering medications, and maintaining daily records. Beyond the feedlot, you will assist in broadacre cropping and pasture operations as well as essential machinery and farm maintenance, including fencing and stock water systems. Working alongside the owners, you will ensure the performance of 200 Angus cows and 400 backgrounders meets the high standards required for long-term supply contracts. Mustering of livestock is with side-by-sides or quad bikes and no dogs. The Ideal Candidate The successful applicant will be a motivated and trustworthy individual who takes genuine pride in maintaining the property and the health of the livestock. Reliability: Honest, enthusiastic, and capable of working independently or within a small team. Requirements: Previous livestock/feedlot experience paired with an openness to learn and a positive, can-do attitude. Maintenance Skills: Competent in general machinery and farm maintenance, including welding, machinery operation and water management. Technical Proficiency: Experience in data recording when working with livestock. Attention to Detail: Sharp focus on following feedlot protocols and monitoring animal welfare.
