Full project lifecycle - design through to commissioning Clear pathway to senior level with mentoring from experienced engineers Competitive salary package based on experience The Client Our client is an established engineering business with deep roots in the Hunter region. They have spent years quietly building a reputation as a go-to technical partner for some of the region's organisations. They are growing and they need the right people to grow with them. Due to a strong project pipeline heading into the second half of the year, they are looking to bring on an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join their automation team. The Role You'll be involved in the full project lifecycle, from design and programming through to FAT, commissioning and handover. Typical project environments include coal handling, mineral processing, water/wastewater and general industrial manufacturing across the Hunter Valley and broader NSW. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and commission control systems including PLC, HMI and SCADA applications Produce and review engineering documentation including functional design specifications, I/O lists and loop diagrams Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) Liaise with clients and multi-disciplinary project teams Support junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence About You Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline 3–6 years of experience in control systems or automation engineering Proficiency in at least one major PLC platform (Siemens, Rockwell, or Schneider) SCADA experience (Ignition, Citect, or WinCC preferred) Strong communication skills and the ability to manage client relationships on-site Mining or heavy industrial background highly regarded What's On Offer Genuine career progression towards a Senior position Varied project work across Hunter Valley and broader NSW A tight-knit team where your contribution is noticed and rewarded If you’d like to learn more, please contact Laila Hoy via email lh@asr.com.au for a confidential discussion.
