The Role Our client, a highly respected global insurer, is seeking an Accident & Health Senior Claims Specialist, with strong experience in A&H claims in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne . Job Duties Our client, a leading global insurer, is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist to manage Accident & Health claims. Responsibilities include: Overseeing the full Accident & Health claims process, ensuring fairness, efficiency, and compliance Providing technical direction and oversight to third-party administrators (TPAs) Handling complex, sensitive, or escalated claims matters Acting as a key contact for emergency assistance cases, including after-hours support Authorising claim payments within delegated authority and monitoring reserve adequacy Delivering training, coaching, and guidance to service providers to maintain high standards Managing complaints and dispute resolution processes Identifying emerging risks and trends, supporting loss reduction initiatives Using data and analytics to improve claims performance and outcomes Preparing compliance reports, audits, and performance metrics Building strong relationships with brokers, clients, service providers, and internal teams Contributing to claims strategy and integrating with broader business functions Experience & Qualifications The successful candidate will demonstrate: Extensive experience in managing Accident & Health claims within the insurance sector Strong technical knowledge of Accident & Health products, regulations, and claims processes Solid understanding of APRA, AFCA, ASIC frameworks, the Insurance Contracts Act, and the General Insurance Code of Practice Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills Strong analytical and decision-making skills with high attention to detail Ability to collaborate effectively and build strong stakeholder relationships Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management systems Relevant insurance qualifications or certifications (desirable) Next Steps: If you are interested in this opportunity, please Apply Now .
