A leading Australian insurer is looking for a Senior Privacy Lead on a 9 month FTC to support the continued uplift of privacy capability across a large, complex and regulated environment. This role will suit an experienced privacy professional who can balance strategic thinking with hands on delivery. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, helping the business navigate privacy risk, regulatory obligations, responsible data use and emerging AI governance requirements in a practical and commercial way. The role As Senior Privacy Lead, you will support the development and delivery of the organisation’s privacy strategy, roadmap and priorities across the Australian business, while contributing to broader enterprise privacy uplift. You will work closely with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Cyber, Data and AI teams to embed privacy by design into business initiatives, technology change and operational decision making. Key responsibilities Lead and support the delivery of privacy strategy, roadmap and uplift initiatives across a complex regulated business Provide clear, pragmatic advice on privacy risk, controls, regulatory obligations, data use and AI related privacy considerations Support the consistent implementation of enterprise privacy, data and AI policies across the business Oversee key privacy governance activities, including Privacy Impact Assessments, incidents, complaints, personal information flows, retention obligations and transparency requirements Partner with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Cyber, Data and AI teams to embed privacy by design into projects and change activity Develop meaningful reporting, insights and metrics for senior leaders to support informed decision making Influence, challenge and guide business stakeholders to ensure privacy considerations are understood and appropriately managed About you You are a senior privacy professional with strong subject matter expertise and experience working in large, complex and regulated environments. You are confident providing advice to senior leaders, comfortable working through ambiguity and able to translate complex privacy obligations into practical business guidance.
