Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and support applications/scripts in a UNIX/Linux environment Write efficient, optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting Perform database tuning, query optimization, and performance analysis Automate routine tasks using shell scripting (Bash/KornShell) Monitor batch jobs and troubleshoot production issues Work closely with application teams, DBAs, and business stakeholders Manage file processing, job scheduling, and system-level configurations Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance standards Participate in code reviews and deployment processes in Agile/Scrum teams Required Skills UNIX/Linux Strong command-line proficiency Shell scripting (Bash / KornShell) Experience with cron jobs, file system management, process handling SQL / Database Strong SQL skills (joins, subqueries, indexing, stored procedures) Experience with databases like Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server Query tuning and performance optimization Other Technical Skills Knowledge of ETL processes and data workflows Experience with scheduling tools (AutoSys, Control-M, etc.) Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN) Preferred Skills Experience in production support environments Exposure to Python or Perl scripting Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud) Understanding of PL/SQL or T-SQL Experience working
