About the Role Toogoolawa School in Ormeau, QLD is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Casual Teacher Aide/Support Worker to join our team. Toogoolawa is a special assistance school for boys who have not successfully engaged in mainstream education and require a more flexible, supportive and relationship‑focused learning environment. This casual role involves providing support to students with diverse and complex needs within a nurturing and structured setting. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting student engagement, wellbeing and learning, contributing to our mission to empower young people to re‑engage with education and reach their full potential. What You’ll Be Doing Assisting teachers in the classroom with instructional and non‑instructional tasks Providing one‑on‑one or small group support to students with additional needs Monitoring student progress and providing regular feedback to teachers Maintaining a safe, organised and inclusive learning environment What We’re Looking For Experience working with students with additional needs, preferably in an educational setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families and staff Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the development of students with diverse needs Excellent organisational and time management skills Relevant qualifications in education, disability services, or a related field (desirable) Child Safety and Compliance Requirements Toogoolawa School is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all students and is a child safe organisation .
