Located at our Head Office in Cromer, we are looking for a Junior Merchandise Planner to join our team. In this role, you will support the execution of our inventory strategy through sales analysis, demand forecasting, and stock management. Working closely with the broader merchandising team, you will help optimise inventory levels, maximise sales opportunities, and contribute to achieving margin targets. Key Responsibilities will include: Analyse sales, inventory, and margin performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Forecast core and repeat styles in line with Open-to-Buy (OTB) budgets and inventory targets. Manage stock levels to maximise availability, minimise excess inventory, and reduce markdown exposure. Prepare and support weekly and monthly reports, providing actionable insights and recommendations. Assist in the planning and execution of markdown, promotional, and clearance strategies. Partner closely with the Buying team to ensure a balanced assortment and optimal product mix across categories. Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including sell-through, stock turn, gross margin, and inventory productivity. Maintain accuracy and integrity of data across planning systems, reports, and inventory management tools. Conduct ad hoc analysis and reporting to support business decisions and trading performance. Preferred Qualifications and Experience 1–3 years’ experience in a merchandise planning, allocation, inventory, or similar analytical role. Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Retail Management Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis. Excellent attention to detail, with strong organisational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced retail environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
