About the Role Not a skilled machinist yet but have creative flair, a passion for learning new things and an eagerness to grow your skill set? EMU Australia is looking for a motivated and hands-on Sewing Machinist to join our Australian Made production team in Geelong. This is a unique opportunity to learn from experienced crafts people and become part of a proudly Australian brand with a rich heritage dating back to 1948. Whether you already have sewing experience or simply love working creatively with your hands, we’re looking for someone with: • A positive attitude and willingness to learn • Strong attention to detail • Reliability and a team-first mindset • Pride in producing quality work • An interest in fashion, footwear or craftsmanship You’ll work alongside our skilled manufacturing team learning specialist sewing and production techniques used in our Australian Made footwear collections. Experience & Skills We’re Looking for; · Plain Machine or Overlocking experience preferred but not essential as training is provided · Ability to work both independently and as part of a team · Willingness to learn and show initiative · Be flexible with your ability to move between one task to another · Have excellent time management skills · Possess a high level of attention to detail · Exhibit a high quality of craftsmanship · Have excellent communication skills · Enthusiastic with a can do attitude Accountabilities · Completion of the tasks assigned and to deadlines · Keep a clean and safe working environment · Comply with company procedures and policies Other Skills, Knowledge, Attributes and Personal Qualities · Reliable: You can always be counted on to do a good job · Level headed: You hold your emotions in check · Respectful: Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers to achieve common goals
