THE ROLE You’ll proactively identify and secure association conference opportunities across NSW, VIC and ACT, building a strong sales pipeline while developing long-term client partnerships. From managing proposals and negotiations to hosting site inspections and representing GCCEC at trade shows and industry events, you’ll act as a key ambassador for our venue across your markets. Your key responsibilities will include: Identifying and securing Association Conference business opportunities across NSW, VIC and ACT Developing and implementing sales and marketing activity plans to maximise lead generation and conversion Building strong relationships with PCOs, associations and key industry stakeholders Managing proposals, negotiations and event contracting to secure business outcomes Hosting site inspections and familiarisations to showcase GCCEC and convert opportunities Planning and executing regular in-market sales activity with existing and prospective clients Delivering key account management initiatives, including client engagement and annual recognition events Representing GCCEC at trade shows, exhibitions and promotional activities Monitoring competitor activity and identifying emerging market trends and opportunities ABOUT YOU You’re a confident relationship builder with a strong understanding of the business events and association conference sector. Commercially minded and highly motivated, you thrive on developing connections, identifying opportunities and delivering results. You’ll bring: Strong knowledge of the Business Events industry, particularly the convention and association market Proven ability to build networks, engage clients and develop long-term relationships Excellent negotiation and influencing skills with a focus on achieving commercial outcomes Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail Strong administration and computer skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities A proactive, self-motivated and results-driven approach A professional and confident presence when hosting clients and representing the venue Flexibility and willingness to travel interstate and attend industry functions outside normal business hours Full Australian working rights are required for this position in addition to a probity check.
