We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Care Officer to join our team. Position Overview As a Residential Care Officer, you will provide care, support, supervision, and guidance to residents within a residential care environment. You will assist residents with their daily living needs, support their emotional and social wellbeing, and contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans to ensure a safe and supportive living environment. Key Responsibilities Provide direct care and support to residents in accordance with individual care plans and organisational policies. Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks where required. Monitor residents' physical, emotional, and behavioural wellbeing and report concerns to relevant supervisors and healthcare professionals. Support residents in developing life skills, independence, and participation in social, recreational, and community activities. Assist in implementing individual support, behaviour management, and care plans. Provide emotional support, encouragement, and guidance to residents while maintaining professional boundaries. Promote a safe, secure, and positive residential environment that respects the rights, dignity, and cultural backgrounds of residents. Maintain accurate records, case notes, incident reports, and progress documentation. Assist with medication management in accordance with organisational policies and relevant legislation, where authorised. Liaise with families, guardians, healthcare professionals, and external service providers to support residents' ongoing needs. Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents, and challenging behaviours while ensuring resident safety and wellbeing. Participate in team meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives. Skills and Qualifications AQF Certificate IV or higher qualification in Community Services, Disability, Individual Support, Aged Care, Mental Health, or a related field. Strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support services. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and stakeholders. Strong problem-solving, observation, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. High level of professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality. Sound documentation and record-keeping skills. Preferred Requirements Previous experience in residential care, disability support, aged care, youth services, or community services. Current National Police Check.
