The Roaring 40's Café/Restaurant is seeking a fully qualified chef to join our team, located in Angaston's historic Laucke Flour Mill. The Chef is responsible for looking after their section and will assist the other chefs to ensure delivery of high-quality and consistent meals. The chef will report to the Head chef. Qualifications required · Strong leadership qualities · Ability to work in a team · Relevant qualifications · At least one year of experience Responsibilities and Tasks · Adhering to HACCP and FIFO protocols and all SOPs as set in place by the Executive Chef. · Recording temperature logs and reporting any faults, or concerns regarding maintenance and equipment. · Manage and monitor food inventory, placing orders as needed to maintain stock levels. · Inspect food supplies for freshness and ensure proper disposal of expired items. · Oversee adherence to all health and safety protocols within the kitchen. · Design, prepare, and introduce new, high-quality dishes, ensuring they meet consistent standards. · Lead and supervise kitchen service, maintaining a high level of food quality throughout. · Organize and prepare the kitchen with necessary utensils, equipment, and tools, ensuring readiness for service. · Prepare and cook food efficiently, adhering to set timeframes. · Oversee the proper maintenance of all kitchen equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
