Job Description We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Head of Merchandise to lead a portfolio of categories and deliver strong financial and operational outcomes. This role sits within the senior leadership team and is accountable for translating strategy into clear, executable category plans, driving performance, and leading cross-functional delivery across Supply Chain, Finance, Planning, and Operations. You will lead a high-performing team of Category Managers, ensuring disciplined execution, strong supplier partnerships, and sustainable business growth. What You will do: Own the end-to-end commercial performance of a category portfolio, including sales, margin, and inventory outcomes Translate business strategy into 1–3 year category plans and annual financial targets Lead pricing, range, and promotional strategies to maximise growth and profitability Drive P&L performance, balancing margin, availability, and inventory risk Lead cross-functional execution across Supply Chain, Finance, Planning, and Operations Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, including negotiation of terms and funding Lead, coach, and develop a team of Category Managers, building capability and succession Embed commercial discipline, governance, and consistent ways of working across the team
