About the Position We are seeking a qualified Wood Machinist with strong technical skills to join our Mary Valley timber manufacturing operations. You will work in a close-knit team of 5 and will be responsible for ensuring our Moulders and Cutters are set up correctly and are maintained to achieve a high-quality standard of product to support our business operations. You will complete a range of tasks to assist in our production processes and play a key part in producing high-quality timber products. We are looking for candidates to pick up day shifts at the below time: 4 Day week: 5:15am – 3:15pm (Monday or Friday RDO). This role will be based in Imbil and we are offering a competitive base hourly rate of $34.42 Super. Key responsibilities include but not limited to: Using a range of equipment to cut, shape and mould wood into industry set forms including precision Timber Moulders, Grinders & Finger Joint machines. (Weinig Powermat 1000, 2000, 30N & 22B). The selection and fitting of blades, cutter heads and guides for the appropriate product to maintain quality and production levels. Operate and adjust machinery to shape and mould wood, maintaining quality control. Grinding, honing and sharpening various machinery parts. Consulting plans and drawings to meet production specifications. Maintaining the machinery including planer, dockers, moulders. Preventive maintenance tasks planned through MEX maintenance system. To be successful in this role you will have: Trade Qualification Certificate III in Wood Machining . Previous experience in the timber industry is highly advantageous. A background knowledge of Moulders, Dockers and Finger Joiners is favourable. A basic knowledge of computer programmes and technology relating to wood machining. A positive attitude and willingness to work in a team. Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks. What we can offer you: A competitive base hourly rate Super.
