I help run a youth organisation called VIRB, and we’re on the lookout for great people who want to jump into casual work within schools in 2026. We’re hiring Student Wellbeing Officer / Chaplain for a school in Mt Isa. We have roles for immediate start and are planning for expansion. You must be willing to work with at risk youth. Some young people have high needs so you must be willing to work with this kind of young person. A super rewarding role, but challenging. A bit about the role: - Casual position, 2 days a week to start - School-friendly hours - Pay ranges roughly $34–$42/hr depending on qualifications - Minimum quals are generally Cert IV in Youth Work, but we also consider counsellors, social workers, community services backgrounds, etc. If you love working with young people, can build trust, communicate well, and support students through day-to-day challenges, this could be perfect for you.
