Simm Group is a diverse and expanding privately owned group of businesses operating in the Hospitality, Transport and Vehicle Hire businesses, in Australia and Overseas. We are looking for a self-motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic Bookkeeper / Assistant Accountant to join and be part of our small finance team in our expanding Hospitality Division. Reporting to the Group Accountant, this full-time permanent role will work with and support various Venues and Administration teams to ensure all accounting functions are completed and up to date. This includes a variety of transaction processing, analysis and reporting, and offers the successful applicant an excellent opportunity to develop their knowledge and experience. Key Responsibilities Reconcile bank Accounts daily Process Supplier Invoices into Accounts Payable and assist with processing payments Process and reconciliation of credit cards Assist with Payroll preparation and processing Providing support to the Group Accountant with month end processes Assisting in preparation of periodic BAS, FBT and Income Tax returns Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Registers Produce weekly and monthly accounts Work with and assist divisional staff with stocktakes and queries. Assist the Group Accountant, CFO and Managing Director as required. Skills & Experience Australian Accounting Qualifications Preferred At least 2 years’ experience in a similar roll or Public Practice Sound Microsoft Office Suite skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel Sound accounting systems experience, preferably with Xero Team player with a proactive attitude High-level of attention to detail and accuracy Ability to prioritise competing workloads Sound communication and interpersonal skills This represents an excellent opportunity to learn and grow with an experienced team and expanding businesses.
